Earning your high school equivalency opens doors to better jobs, college and training programs, the military, and goals you set for yourself. At the Owen County Public Library's Lifelong Learning Center in Spencer, you can prepare for the GED / Indiana High School Equivalency (HSE) for free, with patient, one-on-one support.

What the test covers

The exam measures the core skills of a high school graduate across four subjects:

  • Reasoning Through Language Arts (reading & writing)
  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Science
  • Social Studies

You don't have to be ready for all four at once, we help you build up one subject at a time, starting wherever you are today.

Who it's for

Adults in Owen County and the surrounding area who didn't finish high school and want a recognized equivalency credential. Whether it's been one year or thirty since you were in a classroom, you're welcome here. (Students under 18 may qualify in certain situations, just ask.)
