GET A LIBRARY CARD

Library cards are free to all residents of Owen County, age 14 and up.

To get your library card bring a photo ID and, if your ID does NOT show your current address, a piece of mail with your name and current address postmarked within the last 30 days.

If you have had a library card in Owen County in the past you may have old fines to pay, or your address may need to be updated, so be sure to bring your proof of address even if you think you’ve had a card previously.

Children’s cards (with limited privileges) are available for children ages 6-13. Children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, with proof of address in Owen County, to obtain a card. Children are allowed to check out 10 items at a time, and are NOT allowed to check out DVDs or video games.

Info about Additional Appropriations

Additional Appropriation The Owen County Public Library has recently asked for an “Additional Appropriation” to increase our budget. It has been several years since we went through this process, so it is probably a good idea to explain what is meant by the term...

Letter from the Director

Each year the Indiana State Library requires all public libraries to complete a comprehensive annual report, which is nearly 100 pages long, and covers all the things the library offers to the public, how often they were used,  the programs we offer to the public and...

Roadmap to Success

The Roadmap to Success guides users to information about workforce, colleges and training programs, ways to pay and save for education after high school, and much more.

Containing up-to-date national and local resources, the Roadmap tailors them to suit the needs of each user. The Roadmap begins by asking whether the user is a student, parent/guardian, service organization, educator, or community member or business. The questions continue to build on one another until the user is presented with a personalized resource page that contains relevant local and national information that they may view and email to themselves or others.

All teenagers need a plan for their future. The Roadmap to Success allows teens to find resources that suit their individual plan – no matter if their plan includes career and technical education, college, the workforce, or service.
