In response to numerous questions, the Owen County Public Library advises that the event to be held this weekend in the Library’s Community Room is not a program of the Owen County Public Library, nor is it endorsed, supported, or otherwise sponsored by the Library. The group holding the event is using the Community Room as part of OCPL’s long-standing policy of community access, in accordance with the Library Bill of Rights. Advertising for the event may have led to confusion regarding the sponsoring organization, a local religious group. Views expressed by the group within the meetings are those of the organizers, and do not necessarily reflect opinions, ideas, or endorsement of any member of the OCPL Staff or Board of Trustees. Policy changes for the use of the Community Room will be made to help avoid future confusion.
