Library Board Meeting Change of Time for 2024
For 2024, Owen County Public Library Board Meetings will continue to be held on the third Monday of each month in the Library Genealogy Vault, but please note that the time of the meetings has been changed to 5:00 pm.
We would also like to caution anyone searching the internet for the library website, to be sure you have found Owen County Public Library in Spencer. It appears that the Owen County Public Library in Owenton, Kentucky may have recently “boosted” their presence on the internet, which causes their library to appear first when one does a search for Owen County Public Library.
To help searchers in distinguishing the difference quickly: when viewing the OCPL Kentucky web page, their logo is a colorful drawing of a stained glass. We have no stained glass on our building in Spencer.
Our website opens with a color photograph of the front of the library, which local people will recognize, and our logo which mirrors the look of the arches on the library here, and has “Spencer, Indiana” written at the bottom.
The problem some were having finding the website was brought to our attention when many people were checking the website for Holiday closings, and closings or delays due to the weather.
We hope these suggestions will help to better guide anyone conducting a web search for the library in the future.
